A Sad And Confused Pup Who Was Abandoned By The River With All His Belongings Is All Smiles Now

What should have been a beautiful day filled with happiness and many tail wags turned into a day filled with confusion and sadness for a beautiful pup named Corn Flakes.

Instead of enjoying the sunny Michigan weather by the river with his family, Corn Flakes felt lonely while he was observing his surroundings.

The sweet pup didn’t understand that he was dumped by his family.

Although his owners were nowhere to be seen, Corn Flakes kept believing that he would catch a glimpse of them appearing around the corner.

He hoped that they would run toward him with their outstretched arms and give him the sweetest of hugs.

Fortunately, a good human happened to notice the pup running around while all his possessions – a crate, blankets, and two bags of food – were spread on the ground.

They approached the doggo, secured him in his crate, and contacted the Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office, asking for help.

While the pooch was lying in his crate, he had a confused look on his face.

The deputy, Kirt Stechschulte, answered the Good Samaritan’s call and immediately rushed to the aid of the abandoned doggo.

Since he heard that the pup was reserved and unfriendly, Stechschulte proceeded with caution after he arrived at the scene.

As soon as the deputy put a leash over the dog’s neck, he was pleasantly surprised.

The pooch, later named Corn Flakes, was so excited that someone came to his aid that he started to roll over and wag his tail.

“When I put a tether on the dog, he became very excited and was very friendly toward me. My thought was he was just scared when he was approached at first,” Stechschulte told The Dodo.

The deputy drove the abandoned doggo to Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter, located in Mason, Michigan.

The staff cared for him and made sure he had everything he needed. Corn Flakes felt comfortable and safe in his bed, and he began relaxing.

Owing to the affection and cuddles that the wonderful staff gave him, the sweet dog couldn’t stop smiling.

There was not a hint of sorrow and confusion on Corn Flakes’ face that was now beaming.

Since the pup sometimes acted goofy, the staff started teaching him how to be a good boy.

Corn Flakes hopes to find a great family who will love him deeply and who will never give up on him. He needs someone who will be by his side, exercise with him, and help him restrain his impulses.

“He comes on pretty strong sometimes, so a tolerant friend would be best. He’s been through a lot, so we’re hoping there’s a family out there with the patience and sense of humor he needs to be his best self,” one animal advocate wrote about the pup on Facebook.

The rescue team is full of understanding for Corn Flakes. They will continue to shower him with affection until he finds a wonderful family who will give him all their love.
